The structured mentoring programme supports scientists of all faculties of the University of Freiburg in the postdoc phase as well as in the advanced doctoral phase and promotes their strategic career planning and development.

We create opportunities for professional orientation and success for your next career step through reflection, feedback, networking, mutual support and further qualification.

Mentoring is a proven tool for supporting the next generation of executives on their career path through structured and individual support. Mentoring is a self-organized, hierarchically independent relationship between a more experienced person (mentor) and a less experienced person (mentee). In this one-to-one mentoring, the mentors provide their mentees with insights into the structures of the respective industry or institution, thereby opening up access to professionally relevant networks. The mentees are personally accompanied in their next steps and receive constructive feedback from their mentors. The exchange in the mentoring tandem is supplemented by cooperation in peer groups with collegial advice.

Programme line-specific counseling and workshops provide mentees with the opportunity to become qualified and established in their professional disciplines at an early stage.

We are looking forward to your application for the mentoring year 2024-25 in the program lines @academia and @newpathways and @flexAbility starting April 1st, 2024. The deadline for application is April 28th, 2024. 

Application will open again for onboarding of new mentees in the @flexAbility line in October 2024 as free spaces open up.
